Yes, as a volunteer, you’ll be granted and opportunity for Presale Tickets through HLSR’s ticketing system. There are a several things to keep in mind:
- Volunteers get access Wednesday for Presale and the rest of the public will get access the following Saturday
- Each volunteer will have their own access code for purchasing tickets — this should’ve come in the email you received from Rodeo
- The tickets being sold are those remaining after Season ticket holders have purchased — you’ll wonder why half of the stadium isn’t available
- There are nearly 35000 volunteers and many, many of them are all logging in at the same time to get tickets — the system will get slow and sometimes non-responsive
- If you find that you cannot get the tickets you wanted or you could only purchase some in the upper levels, fear not. There are always tickets available somewhere. When Rodeo rolls around, people determine they can’t got or need to get rid of the tickets. DO NOT LOSE YOUR HEAD!
- Season ticket holders will often sell off the tickets they are not using and they may sell them for higher than face value — if only slightly higher, they are recouping the “service fees” they were charged
- Tickets can be sold at a profit officially through Rodeo’s Marketplace, but keep in mind there are fees associated with this
- There are printed tickets AND Flash Seats. Once a paper ticket is converted to Flash Seats, the paper ticket is no longer valid.
- You can get into all shows that aren’t designated otherwise using your Gold Badge, but you are not guaranteed a seat
NOTE: A fantastic opportunity often overlooked is the Chairmans Club. It is the upper most level on the South side of the stadium accessible only from the South side elevators on the outside of the stadium. For roughly $100 per ticket, you get a buffet of great food included. Considering the cost of food (at concession stands), the wait for food and drink, this is an experience worth the consideration. The view to the Rodeo floor may not be close, but the music and screens are still accessible.
