When do I get my badge?

Once you’ve satisfied all of the requirements of the Committee AND your badge has been released by the Chairman on the Committee, you may pick up your badge.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Pay Rodeo dues (or are Life Member of Rodeo)
  • Signed indemnity form
  • Verified ID with Membership office
  • Raised $1000+ as a Rookie or $2000+ as a Veteran

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN IT IS RELEASED?

The SPC Dashboard (rodeospc.com) has a green message bar indicating that your badge has been released. You may also log into rodeohouston.com, and check under Menu > Membership.

There may also be Committee-wide messaging that goes out indicating that badges have been released.

NOTE: When you receive this message, be sure to check the SPC Dashboard or Rodeo website to make sure yours was released.

Will my badge get me into Cookoff (World’s Championship BBQ Cookoff aka WCBBQ)?

Your badge will definitely get you (+1) into Cookoff as well as the Carnival, HOWEVER the only tent you can get into with your badge is the Chuckwagon Tent, which offers a free bbq plate to attendees.

If you’re looking to get into a cook off team’s tent, then you’ll need tent-specific wristbands. Best bet is to reach out to your network of friends and coworkers. One of them can help you get connected with a tent OR they know someone who can. Very few tents, if any, will take payment on the spot for access to the tent so plan ahead before going out there.

Which gate do I use when entering the premises (not parking)?

Any of the gates will grant you access, but the few marked Gold Badge and Credentials will usually get you through faster.

NOTE: You will not be exempt from security checks, but they tend to be pleasant with volunteers.
